Leticia is a city located in the far south of Colombia. It is the capital of the Amazonas. In spite of being away from the principal urban country centers, with no communication by land, it constitutes an important commercial point with Brazil because it is a bordering city on the River Amazonas and close to the boundary post with Peru and Brazil.
Currently, almost the 60% of population of the department and the most Indian communities: huitotos, Ingas, Tucanos,Ticunas and Nukaks live here.
The city has a great population growth and technically ,Letizia and Tabatinga, brazil town, make an only city.
